FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

1. How long does the process take?

Final draft resumes are typically delivered within a week, with final draft cover letters and LinkedIn profiles adding on an additional five days.

2. What are my payment options?

Full payment is expected up-front through a credit card via the website's payment portal, Venmo, or Paypal.  If a client is ever uncomfortable with paying in-full upfront, a deposit plan is available upon request.

3. Should my resume have a really exciting design?

One of the more trendy things in the resume industry is creating a resume that has a really exciting design.  An exciting design can include anything from a head-shot, statistical charts, various columns, etc.  However, these designs do not do well with ATS software and hiring managers, which is why I do not recommend these designs.  A simple yet effective format is still the industry standard that gives you the best chance to bypass ATS and persuade a hiring manager to recommend you for an interview.

4. I heard a resume should never be longer than a page, is that true?

While I tend agree with the sentiment that "the shorter the resume, the more impressive you are", that tends to only work with people that already have some serious name-recognition.  The length of a resume depends solely on the experience of a client.  A recent college graduate with limited experience should probably stick to one page.  A person who has been with the same company their entire career should probably stick to a page as well.  But someone with four past employers and a wealth of education, can, without a doubt, utilize two to three pages.  The key to it all is the information has to be concise and stripped of any redundancy.

5. What if I feel like the final draft doesn't make sense to my career or industry?

Every resume order includes a free round of revisions.  This round of revisions allows you to review your resume closely and provide me with any of your questions, thoughts, or concerns.  After receiving these notes, I update the draft to reflect the changes.  Throughout the entire process, I am here every step of the way to ensure you are comfortable with and have confidence in your new resume!

6. How can you guarantee ATS success for every job I apply to?

ATS keywords are an integral part of any resume, and are specific to the job posting, company, and industry.  Every client that is interested in multiple positions or waiting for future opportunities to open, receives an ATS worksheet with tips and step-by-step instructions on how to easily update their new resume to include a specific job's ATS keywords.

7. What is your refund policy?

If you don’t like the final product I deliver, you have the right to request a refund.  I ask you to send a list of your comments and concerns.  If I find that your complaints are justified, I will proceed with a refund. I analyze each case very thoroughly and do my best to make every customer happy.
